Godfathers of the Ocean Surf School

Running lessons in front of the Burleigh Heads Surf Club on the Gold Coast since 2001, this school caps its group sessions at four surfers per coach. Founded by Krista and Michael 'Munga' Barry — the latter a former World Championship Tour surfer — it offers private, family and ladies-only lessons, bodyboarding, holiday programs, corporate sessions and youth coaching toward competition. Softboards and wetsuits are supplied, and the operator is accredited by Surfing Australia.
