Moonraker Dolphin Swims

Sorrento Pier, Esplanade, Sorrento VIC 3943, VIC, Victoria

The Story

The Mackinnon family has run dolphin swims out of Sorrento since 1990, now in its second generation under Torie Mackinnon. From Sorrento Pier, the purpose-built Moonraker carries swimmers to wild bottlenose dolphins, Australian fur seal colonies and the weedy sea dragons of southern Port Phillip Bay — optical masks, thermal jackets and hot showers included. If the dolphins don't show, you come back free. Twenty years in the Green Travel Leader Hall of Fame backs the environmental claims.
